Implementation of BUNKER FUEL SURCHARGE (BAF) due to IMO 2020 Low Sulphur Fuel Requirements.

7th January 2020

Dear valued customers,

Further to our previous email regarding the new requirements globally for the sulphur levels in the fuel used to be capped at 0.5 % m/m as governed by the IMO (International Marine Organisation), the shipping lines have now imposed a Bunker Fuel Surcharge (BAF) to cover the costs of the Low Sulphur Fuel (VLSFO) they are now required to use.

For all vessels loading from January 01st 2020 all vehicles will incur a BAF charge which will be invoiced in addition to your Ocean Freight costs.

For Standard Sized Motor Vehicles up to 20.00 M3 the BAF charge will be NZD $ 95.00 Per Vehicle.

Vehicles over 20.00 m3 will incur higher BAF charges.

The BAF charge will be monitored throughout the year and may fluctuate depending on the price of the VLSFO Fuel.

We thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Feel free to contact us if you have any queries or wish to discuss further.

Thanks & Regards,
The Team at Dolphin Shipping NZ Limited.
